Incorporated in January 2003, MCR Technologies Ltd. was created with a view to providing expert IT Security Services and Products to Small & Medium sized Enterprises (SME’s) at affordable prices.

The company is based in Sheffield covering the the Midlands and the North.

The rationale behind MCR Technologies was twofold :

An identification that SME’s increasing use of IT (especially the Internet) and the ever increasing security threats posed by those technologies meant that many businesses would need help to understand how effective security can be applied to protect the business and enable the business to use their IT resources to the fullest effect. In our view this cannot be provided by the larger IT suppliers at prices that are realistic to SME’s, given their costs and desire for the ‘big accounts’.

It is not good business sense for SME’s to have dedicated IT Security staff to protect their IT Resources. It is more cost effective to bring in that expert help on an occasional basis to ensure the latest threats are countered. To this end our goal is for you to trust MCR Technologies to be the partner you use to secure your organisation.

Our business model of very low overheads combined with a network of industry partners allows us to be flexible enough to take on the larger jobs if needed yet remain very competitive in our pricing models. Our size allows us to create close working relationships with our clients, and understand the particular needs of the organisation to ensure investments are only made to counter realistic rather than theoretical threats. I.e. we will tell you if you don’t need to spend money in certain areas !
